Construction Techniques

Construction Tools: Prepare the following tools: electric mixer, mixing bucket, measuring cup, electronic scale, grout float, grout removal tool, rubber float or grout float, grout spreader, sponge or cloth, etc.

Construction Preparation:Prior to grouting, it is essential to remove any traces of leftover tile adhesive or materials from the joints, and assess the tile surface's absorbency. If needed, protective measures should be implemented to prevent surface contamination or scratching.

Mixing the Mortar:Refer to the label for the specific mixing ratio. Begin by adding water to the mixing container, then gradually introduce the powdered material while continuously stirring. Utilize an electric mixer until a homogeneous consistency is achieved, devoid of any lumps. Allow the mixture to rest for 3-5 minutes, followed by an additional stirring of 15-30 seconds prior to application. The blended slurry should be utilized within a maximum timeframe of 2 hours.

Construction:If the tiles possess a smooth and glazed surface, it is advisable to employ the troweling method for grouting. Conversely, if the tile surface is uneven or has a propensity to absorb water, the recommended approach involves utilizing the joint-filling method during installation.
If the tiles possess a smooth and glazed surface, it is advisable to employ the troweling method for grouting. Conversely, if the tile surface is uneven or has a propensity to absorb water, the recommended approach involves utilizing the joint-filling method during installation. When utilizing the troweling technique for grouting, it is essential to utilize a rubber float or a soft plastic float to evenly apply the grout onto both the tile joints and the surfaces of adjacent tiles. This ensures that the joints are adequately filled with grout. Subsequently, any excess grout should be meticulously removed from the surface. Allow ample time for the grout within the joints to attain a surface dry state, characterized by non-adherence to the touch. At this point, a damp sponge, wrung out appropriately, should be employed to meticulously cleanse the tile surface using a circular motion. It is recommended to repeat this cleaning process after a span of 24 hours for optimal results.

Cleanup:Tools and containers may be cleaned using water while VASA® TILE GROUT 102 is still fresh.

Announcements

The recommended application temperature range is 5°C to 35°C. Construction should not be carried out during rainy, high-temperature, frost, or windy conditions exceeding level 5.

The prepared grout should be used within 1 hour, and it is strictly prohibited to add water and reuse hardened grout.

During the water addition and mixing process, adding any other materials is strictly prohibited.

It is recommended to apply surface protection on unglazed tiles, antique tiles, and tiles with porous surfaces before grouting to prevent potential tile contamination.
