Construction Techniques
Construction Preparation and Tools: The main tools required for ceramic tile grout construction include: specialized caulking gun, putty knife, rubber trowel or grout spreader, sponge, etc.
Gap and Surface Cleaning:Use tools such as a gap cleaning cone or scraper to pre-clean oil stains, loose materials, and other contaminants in the gaps, and brush with a brush to ensure that the ceramic tile joints and surrounding areas are clean, dry, free of dust, particles, oil stains, loose materials, etc.
Material Preparation and Installation:Cut the professional mixing tube with a utility knife according to the joint width, and before installing the mixing tube, press the adhesive tube with a caulking gun until both components of the AB group are completely discharged from the outlet. Then install the cut mixing tube to the outlet and use a special, high-quality, labor-saving caulking gun for grout. To ensure uniform mixing of the grout, press and discard the product in the first 40cm of the mixing tube before proceeding with the grouting construction.
Gap Filling:It is recommended to wax or paste decorative paper on both sides of the gap before grouting for protection. During grouting, hold the mixing tube at a 45° angle to the tile surface so that the grout can fill the gap completely. Apply even pressure to evenly spread the material in the joint, and control the force and frequency properly. Move the mixing tube evenly backward to ensure uniform and full filling of the ceramic tile joints.
Joint Compression Treatment:To ensure that the grout is fully cured and the ceramic tile joints form a moderately rounded surface, a special joint compression steel ball or a joint adjustment tool can be used to evenly apply force along the ceramic tile joints from one end to the other.
Cleaning Treatment: After the grouting construction, when the product is fully cured, remove the decorative paper or use a clean scraper to clean the semi-cured grout on the surface of the ceramic tiles. Generally, the curing time is 4~12 hours (slightly different due to different environmental temperatures).
CAUTIONS
Construction ambient temperature should be between 5°C and 35°C. If the temperature is low, the material can be soaked in hot water for about 5 minutes to preheat before proceeding to the next step. (Construction should not be carried out in environments with air humidity greater than 60%).
Before construction, check if the tiles are firmly attached. Clean the tile surface and joints thoroughly, ensuring no visible water in the joints.
Joint compression must be completed within 30 minutes after grouting. During high-temperature conditions in summer, joint compression should be done within 10 minutes.
Unused product after opening should have its mixer removed within 30 minutes and sealed with the lid for storage.
To ensure uniform mixing, each batch of grout must use a new mixer provided. Discard the first 40cm of product before proceeding to the next step. Do not directly use a mixer that has been used before.
Do not use acidic chemicals to remove cured grout residue on the tile surface. Instead, use a damp cloth to scrub vigorously.
Light-colored products may yellow under ultraviolet light. Avoid using them in direct sunlight areas.
