Thermal Insulation Bonding Mortar

VASA® Insulation Bonding 101 for External Thermal Insulation System is made of fine graded aggregate, Portland cement, as well as a variety of polymers and special additives. It is ready to use with water. The anti-cracking rendering system formed after compounded with alkali-resistant mesh cloth, has excellent impact strength, anti-cracking and water-repellent performance.

  • Water resistance

  • Superior flexibility

  • Environmental protection

Product Overview

Applications

Suitable for bonding expanded polystyrene (EPS) panels and mineral wool boards in new and reapplication buildings.

Construction Techniques

Preparation: After the rendering coat mortar of the insulation board reaches a certain strength, the uneven and irregular parts should be polished. Then clean the polished insulation board.

Preparation of ceramic tile adhesive:Volume of water is given in Certificate.   Add water to the mixing bucket, and then slowly add the powders while mixing with mechanical agitator until a homogeneous paste without lumps is obtained. Wait 3 to 5 minutes prior to re-mixing for 15-30 seconds. Finally, it is ready for use. The prepared mortar should be used up in 2 hours.

Rendering application:Using a trowel to apply evenly the prepared mortar on the back side of the insulation board. The mortar thickness should be 2 mm. Press alkali-resistant mesh cloth in mortars and apply required quantity of material in a second work step immediately. The alkali-resistant mesh cloth covers the areas thoroughly, and the second rendering thickness should be around 1 mm. The total rendering coat thickness should be about 3 mm.
The overlap width of alkali resistant mesh cloth shall be not less than 10 cm. A layer of alkali-resistant mesh cloth about 25 cm* 25 cm should be added along the diagonal direction to reinforce the corner positions of doors and windows of building.
