VASA® Tile Adhesive Mid 020, an environmentally-friendly powder tile adhesive, is made of high-quality cement as inorganic cementitious materials, refined sand as aggregate, and a variety of functional additives. It can be used directly by adding water to mix. It is mainly used for indoor high water-absorbing tiles paving and wall leveling. For use in ceramic tile with water absorption more than 6% and pasting thickness of 5-20mm, it has excellent anti-slip performance and bonding strength. For use in indoor walls including concrete, aerated concrete blocks and cement mortar, single-layer coating thickness not more than 10 mm, it features with good water retention (without wetting substrate) and good workability and no cracking.

Applications
Ceramic tile paving: It is used for paving indoor tiles, and the specific application scope is given in the following table:

As for application in laying tiles with the water absorption less than 6% or the dimension greater than 600 * 600 mm, the interfacial treatment should be conducted with VASA vitrified tile back adhesive prior to paving with easily laying adhesive.
Wall leveling: It is used for wall leveling of houses, office buildings and public buildings, and the ceramic tiles could be directly laid on the walls.

Construction Techniques
Preparation and tools: Check the back of ceramic tile, and clean any release agents and impurities. The application tools mainly include mechanical agitator, mixing barrel, measuring cup, notched trowel, putty knife, rubber hammer, horizontal ruler, tape measure, ink box or laser level, ceramic tile cutter, sponge, cross rubber particles, etc.
Substrate treatment:The substrate must be solid, clean, and free of grease, wax stains, concrete curing agent or any loose materials. The flatness deviation of the substrate should be less than 8mm/2m.
Preparation of the tile adhesive:Volume of water is given in Certificate. Add water to the mixing bucket, and then slowly add the powders while mixing with mechanical agitator until a homogeneous paste without lumps is obtained. Wait 3 to 5 minutes prior to mixing again for 15-30 seconds. Finally, it is ready for use. The mixed tile adhesive should be used up in 2 hours.
Tiles paving:Apply forcefully a thin layer of the tile adhesive on the surface of substrate with spatula to enhance the bonding strength between the adhesive and substrate. And then apply a thick layer, and process the adhesive layer with notched trowel. Make sure that each coating area is not more than 1 square meter. After that, apply forcefully a thin layer of tile adhesive on the back of tile, and then a thick layer also. The thickness depends on the level of the substrate, generally in the range of 1-5mm. Then press the tiles on the processed adhesive layer before drying. Under unfavorable weather condition (such as high temperature and wind) or for high water-absorbing substrate, tiles paving should be done as soon as possible. Before tiles paving, touch the adhesive layer with your fingers to check whether it is dried. If it is not dried yet, tiles paving can be conducted. Otherwise, adhesive layer should be applied again. The depth of the spatula tooth should be considered according to the flatness of the working surface and the concavity of the back surface of the tile.
Application Process of Wall leveling:
Preparation and tools: The application tools for wall leveling mainly include mechanical agitator, mixing barrel, measuring cup, spatula, plastering knife, supporting board, scraping bar, horizontal ruler, etc.
Substrate treatment:The substrate must be solid, and free of dust, water, sharp angle and void. With the low strength, substrate should be stabilized and sealed with the multi-functional interface agent PMC-500.
Preparation of mortar:Add water to the mixing bucket, and then slowly add the powders while mixing with mechanical agitator until a homogeneous paste without lumps is obtained. The mixed adhesive should be used up in 2 hours.
Wall leveling process:Scrape evenly the mixed mortar to the wall to level in batch, and the number of batches of scraping depends on the thickness to be leveled. Each batch of scraping thickness is less than 10 mm. After the last application, the wall should be leveled with scraping bar and spatula, and then be cured for 3 days before next application.
